New Eligibility Guidelines For OBC Candidates
Pay scale of the reserved category should not be determined on the basis of the candidate’s parents salary.
On 4th August’ 16, Ambika Sona and Dr T. Subbarami Reddy in Rajya Sabha asked Dr Jitendra Singh who is the minister of state and is also part of DoNER- Development of North-Eastern Region that what is the pay scale situation of the reserved category.
Dr Singh replied to the question through a letter in which he stated that pay scale of the reserved category should not be determined on the basis of the candidate’s parents salary. This is requested by the National Commission of Backward Classes that regardless of where the candidate’s parents work and earn. The pay scale of following sectors or any sector should be on the basis of the candidate’s worth because other sources of income are not considered as recommended by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC).
- Public Sector Undertaking (PSU)
- Banks
- Insurance Organizations
- Universities
- Under Subordinate Judiciary
- Under Private employment
- State Governments Organizations

According to the rules of Civil Services Examination and extant instructions on the subject candidate will be selected on the basis of:
- Preference
- Eligibility
- Medical Fitness
Candidates who managed to fulfil all the above criteria were assigned their desired jobs.
