The structure of the building is ready and the concrete floor is almost complete but the water supply, wiring and furnishing works are yet to be ready. The CCTV cameras are yet to be installed. The electric works of the building are yet to be done, revealed sources from the University on the condition of anonymity. The management of the university expects that the building can be made operational by the end of April of this year. The delay has hit the operations of the examinations of several departments.
Since the University was planning to move its examination section to a new building, it stopped improving the security measures of the existing building. But after the leakage scam of the answer book last year, Sanjay Deshmukh, the Vice-Chancellor of the University announced that CCTV cameras will be installed to stop pilferages.
The present examination building also lacks adequate infrastructure, staff and sanitation facilities. This has affected the functioning of the department. For example, 403 examinations were held in this current academic year and out of this only 170 results have been declared. The department has just two dot matrix printers and it needs several months to prints the mark sheets of the students.
