NHRC Sends Notice to HRD Ministry Over CBSE Paper Leaks
- The NHRC stated that question paper leak has adversely affected the credibility of the CBSE board of exams.
- The commission has also emphasised that it is very necessary to find out the truth to maintain the sanctity of board exams.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sent a notice to HRD ministry regarding the leak of question papers of class 10 mathematics and class 12 economics. NHRC is seeking a detailed report on the same issue within four weeks.
As per the statement released by NHRC these incidents have adversely affected the credibility of the board of exams as board exams are something in which both parents and students have absolute faith. Hence, it is very necessary to get back the faith to maintain the sanctity of board examinations.

NHRC has sent a notice to the secretary of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, Commissioner of Delhi Police and Chairperson of the Central Board of Secondary Education seeking a detailed report in four weeks regarding the leakage of papers.
The HRD ministry has also informed NHRC about the various steps taken by them regarding counselling so that the process of board examinations is fair and foolproof to avoid any such cases in the future. According to them, they are working towards introducing new measures and policies to make board examinations trustworthy.

There has been a lot of opposition towards HRD Ministry decision of re-examination of CBSE Class 10 mathematics and Class 12 economics paper. The CBSE class 12 economics exam will take place on 25 April 2018. Whereas the grade 10 mathematics will only take place if required and will be on conducted in Haryana and Delhi-NCR in July. However, the Delhi High Court has asked CBSE to conduct the exam in April 2018.
