NIRF 2017: Top Performing Universities & Colleges of Andhra Pradesh
Among the various universities in Andhra Pradesh, only two universities managed to secure a spot on the list of top 100 in the ‘overall’ category.
Most of the colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh have secured a spot in the top 100 of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2017 that were released on April 3, 2017, by HRD Ministry. Various engineering, management, and pharmacy colleges have performed exceptionally in the rankings and bagged top ranks.
Among the various universities in Andhra Pradesh, only two universities managed to secure a spot on the list of top 100 in the ‘overall’ category. Among them, Sri Venkateswara University located in Tirupati bagged 68th rank in the rankings followed by Andhra University, which secured the 69th spot.

On the other hand, four institutes that include Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati, Sri Krishna Devaraya University, Ananthapur, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, Vizag and Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anathapur failed to bag a spot in top 100. These institutes are in the 101-150 rank band.

Various reputed universities in Andhra Pradesh like Acharya Nagarjuna University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur failed to make to the top 100 list in ‘overall’ category.
