Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will declare the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking on July 15, 2022 in online mode. The announcement regarding the NIRF rankings 2022 will be made around 11 am on the said date on the official website, nirfindia.org. The NIRF ranking includes the list of top Universities, Colleges and other Educational Institutions across India. The NIRF Ranking 2022 will be made based on the five major several parameters such as teaching-learning and resources, research and professional practice, outreach and inclusivity, graduation outcome etc of the top ranked Institutions.
A total of 7254 higher educational Institutes of India will be ranked this year. Last year, 6272 colleges participated in the NIRF ranking. Nonetheless, the experts of the Indian Institutes (including IITs) questioned that the foreign ranking parameters like THE and QS Ranking give higher weightage to the foreign Institutes. This is the major reason why the top ranked Indian Educational Institutions hold the lower ranking, even positioning in the top list as per NIRF ranking.
