NIT Andhra Pradesh to Launch M.Tech Courses from 2019
NIT Andhra Pradesh (AP) will be launching M.Tech courses from the next academic session 2019-20. NIT AP will launch 11 M.Tech courses with an intake of 15 students in each course.
NIT AP (National Institute of Technology – Andhra Pradesh) located in Tadepalligudem is going to launch M.Tech courses from the year, i.e., 2019. The premier institute of technology, which was established in the year 2015, has been offering only B.Tech courses so far. The first B.Tech batch of NIT AP will graduate in June 2019. The officials of NIT AP are gearing up to launch M.Tech courses from the upcoming academic session.
New M.Tech Courses to be Launched by NIT AP
NIT AP will launch the following M.Tech courses from the next academic session 2019-20 –
- Biotechnical Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Power Electronics Drives
- Thermal Engineering
- Manufacture Engineering
- Advanced Communication Systems
- Computer Science Engineering
- Information Security
- Chemical Engineering
- Material Engineering
- Bioprocess Engineering
The NIT AP admission process for all the 11 M.Tech courses will be based on GATE. The institute will enroll 15 students in each M.Tech course.

On the other hand, NIT AP will be launching Ph.D. and M.S (Research) courses in distance mode in December 2018. Students who enroll in these courses of NIT AP will receive a stipend of Rs. 12,000 per annum from MHRD.
Candidates who are interested in joining M.S (Research) or Ph.D. courses offered by NIT AP in distance mode must have at least five years of industry experience or teaching experience. Enrolled students need not attend the classes regularly, and they can clarify their doubts related to the subject by contacting the study guide. NIT AP will soon publish the details pertaining to M.S (Research) and Ph.D. admissions on its website.
NIT AP is yet to get permanent campus, and the officials are expecting to launch new courses keeping in view that the constructing of permanent campus is going to end by next year. At present, 1,600 students are pursuing B.Tech courses in NIT AP, and the classes are being conducted at Vasavi College and Akula Gopaya College located in the region of Tadepalligudem.

The 172-acre permanent campus of NIT AP will be completed by next year. The permanent campus will have all the latest amenities, classrooms, hostels, laboratories, library and administrative building. The permanent campus is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 206 crore.
