NIT Durgapur to Resume Offline Classes, Exams to be Conducted in Phases

The association of NIT Durgapur has decided to switch to offline classes and exams to be held from 21st March in various phases after the mid-semester to avoid gathering. According to the resolutions made, there will be special seating arrangements made for the students maintaining covid protocols, opting for offline exams.
IISER Kolkata has convened a meeting on 3rd March to decide whether the exams will be held in offline or online mode. Students have started returning to the campuses.
The central academic institutions which have residential programs are heading towards restarting on-campus academic activities in phases after the Bengal government allowed restarting offline classes last month.

According to the resolutions taken by NIT Durgapur, the class and the exam schedule will be made flexible i.e. offline as well as online from 21st March after the Mid- exams of B.Tech, dual degrees, and other programs. The end semester exams will be held from 18-23 April 2023.
The MBA and B.Tech last year will be held online as the students are attempting industrial internships, added by Nirmal Hui. Classes and exams of the dual degrees will be held online as well as offline mode. As added by an NIT teacher, offline classes are a must for understanding the student’s transparency.
Students are to return to the campuses on 26th February and provide an undertaking stating that there is no objection to sharing hostel rooms. Since the exams are to be held from 21 February, students who have started returning from 7th February are staying in WIFI-enabled hostels for online study and exams.
