The 17th convocation ceremony of NIT Kurukshetra took place on February 20, 2020. Union Defense Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh was the Chief Guest of the occasion and he awarded degrees to the graduating students. He also awarded prizes and institute awards to almost 100 students. Addressing the students on the occasion, Rajnath Singh indicated that he wants to see India as ‘Vishwa Guru’ (World Teacher), and to achieve the same, developing sanskar (values), culture and character is important for every student. All these characteristics must be accompanied by good educational knowledge. He also appreciated the institute for its tie-up with ISRO for research on space technologies. He concluded that apart from education, values are important for all-round development.

The toppers of various courses of NIT Kurukshetra were also awarded prizes. The event also witnessed the participation of former Chairman and Managing Director of Axis Aerospace and Technologies, Dr. S Ravinarayanan who received a Ph.D. degree from NIT Kurukshetra.
