NIT Warangal Hosts 17th Convocation Ceremony, 1528 Candidates Awarded Degrees
NIT Warangal celebrated its 16th convocation on 18th August 2018. Over 1,444 students were awarded degrees at the convocation ceremony.
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal celebrated its 17th convocation on 17th August 2019 at the auditorium of the institute. A total of 1528 students were awarded degrees during the convocation ceremony. Out of this, 897 students were awarded B.Tech degrees, 555 students were awarded M.Tech and other post-graduate degrees and the remaining 76 students were awarded Ph.D. degrees.
NIT Warangal Director, N V Ramana Rao addressed the students at the convocation ceremony and informed about the 35 research projects worth Rs.20.87 crores that has been sanctioned by the Science and Engineering Research Board. He further informed that till now NIT Warangal has conducted 51 Global Initiative Academic of Networks (GIAN) courses.
The Chief Guest for the occasion Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Director of Special Programmes and Professor of Geoinformatics at Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand delivered the convocation address. He advised the graduates to become experts in their respective domains and to meet the challenges efficiently. He also asked the students to deliver the services without any prejudice or cultural biases. He further asked the students to adopt new technologies such as blockchain, AI, robotics as they are the future.

National Institute of Technology Warangal is in the first chain of 30 NITs in the country. The prestigious institute is known for its academic excellence, faculty and infrastructure. At present, the institute has over thirteen academic departments and also has few advanced research centres in the field of science and management and engineering.
