Niti Aayog to Impart Skill to 200 Needy Students through ‘Atal Innovation Mission’

Niti Aayog is all set to impart skill to 200 students, who do not have access to formal education through Atal innovation Mission. These 200 students will get a chance to interact with 25 young mentors on December 15, 2017, through Niti Aayog’s Atal Tinkering Lab initiative. On December 15, 2017, Niti Aayog will celebrate Atal Tinkering Lab community day. Various other events have also been lined up to mark the day.

Through Atal Tinkering Lab, the 25 young mentors will engage with over 200 students and conduct brief sessions on how innovation could help in resolving problems. These mentors will visit a total number of four locations in New Delhi. Children from various Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) will participate in the sessions that will be conducted by the young mentors. These children will be given a detailed understanding of education tools of Atal Tinkering Labs and their relevance in resolving the problems.

NGOs working with street, disabled and girls from weaker sections of society will participate in the sessions. These sessions will help the children to become problem solvers to resolve various issues and challenges. The Atal Innovation Mission will lay significant emphasis on developing innovative spirit among the children with no formal education. The highly skilled young mentors will play a vital role in motivating the children in innovating new methods.

Recently, Niti Aayog organised Proffer Hackathon in Delhi, a blockchain event. The event witnessed the participation of over 1,900 students and professionals. Over 28 countries participated in the hackathon and many teams have come up with different innovations in the field of blockchain technology.
