NITI Aayog Recommends NIOS Fee Waiver for Madrasa Students

NITI Aayog or National Institution for Transforming India recommended that madrasa students who choose to study under NIOS or National Institute of Open Schooling should have a fee waiver. It is one of the initiatives taken by NITI Aayog to empower minority community and modernise education. NITI Aayog has been constantly trying to modernise education through circular reforms. Madarasa is an Arabic term commonly used for educational institutions that cater to Muslims. NIOS fee waiver for Madarasa students is on the agenda of NITI Aayog.

Usually, the fee payment portal for NIOS secondary and senior level examinations begins in December. The examination fee can be paid in offline or online mode. The examinations for the academic session 2017-18 will take place in April 2018. In 2016, NIOS set up over 7,400 service or help line centres to facilitate the students with submitting application and payment of examination fee for the secondary and senior level examinations.
