NITs Should Focus on Innovation: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu
M Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of NIT Warangal and advised the graduating students to primarily focus on innovation. As per him, innovation is a necessity and not luxury for India.
M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India was the chief guest for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the National Institute of Technology Warangal. While addressing the audience he expressed his views regarding innovation. According to him ‘Innovation’ is not considered a luxury anymore and is more like a necessity for the country like India.
He further said that technological institutions like NITs should primarily focus on innovation as it can help the institution move forward. He remarked that innovation is the need of the hour as the country is moving forward to build a five-trillion-dollar economy by the year 2025.
According to him, India, at the moment, needs to go on an innovation overdrive for future development and growth. The step can also help in overcoming the most crucial problems in an efficient and effective manner.

The Vice President further said that NITs should have more links with the industry which will help in its overall development. At last, he congratulated the graduating students and guided them to use their knowledge and skills in addressing social problems such as education, literacy, healthcare among others.

He urged the town planners of Warangal to take measures to conserve the heritage sites and monuments. He also stressed the need to create more eco-friendly urban spaces and come up with more environmentally friendly infrastructure.
