NLU Delhi Extends Option to Withdraw AILET Applications: Last Date Extended

In view of the changes in the AILET 2020 seat matrix, reservation policy and exam mode, NLU Delhi has allowed the candidates to withdraw their application forms. The facility will be available from July 1 to July 11, 2020.

The National Law University (NLU), Delhi has decided to open a facility for applicants to withdraw their AILET application forms in view of changes in the seat matrix, reservation policy and the change in the mode of AILET 2020 from pen and paper (offline) to remotely-proctored test (RPT).

Candidates can click on the link mentioned below and fill out the withdrawal form between July 1 and July 11, 2020 in order to opt out of AILET 2020. No request for the withdrawal will be entertained after July 11, 2020. Along with details such as email address, name of the course, registered mobile number, name, the application number, it would also ask for bank account details for refund of AILET application fee.

In the revised notification, the university announced that the AILET seat matrix will be rolled back in accordance with the reservation policy for the academic session 2019-20. As per orders of the Honorable High Court of Delhi, the university's decision to provide 50% reservation to candidates from Delhi, 22% to OBC and 10% to EWS candidates is not permissible.

In addition, NLU Delhi has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the AILET 2020 exam. Initially, AILET 2020 was to be conducted on Agust 18, 2020 in the RPT mode in view of the current crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the new notification released by NLU Delhi on July 29, 2020, states that AILET 2020 will be conducted on September 26 in centre-based online mode. The withdrawal form also states that once the refund request is acknowledged, the candidate cannot take AILET 2020.

AILET, an admission test conducted for admission to NLU Delhi's B.A.LL.B.(Hons), LL.M. and Ph.D programmes, has been postponed again from August 18 and the last date to apply for the exam has been further extended to August 10, 2020. The fresh date of AILET 2020 is yet to be announced and it will be released at least 10 days prior to the exam.
