NMC releases its response on NEET PG 2023 Postponement
In response to the Telangana HC order, the NMC releases its response for the matter of NEET PG 2023 Postponement, that the exams will nit be postponed and will be held as scheduled on March 5th, 2023, as all the preparations are ready.
NEET PG 2023: The National Medical Commission finally makes a response statement to the Telangana High Court order dated February 15, 2023. In its response, the NMC addresses all the cases filed and gives its final statement. Candidates shall note that the NMC will not deflect from the proposed exam date and will conduct NEET PG 2023 on March 5th, 2023. However, the cutoff date for the internship has been extended to August 11, 2023. The same response is expected to be put forward by the NMC in the Supreme Court hearing, today, i.e., February 24, 2023.

As per the response, the NMC states that the candidates have raised the matter of the NEET PG 2023 Postponement on the grounds that, as previously, the last date for internship was March 31, 2023, so about 18,000 candidates were not eligible to apply. Also, these candidates will not have enough time for preparations for NEET PG 2023 as the exam is to be conducted on March 5th, 2023.

NEET PG 2023 Postponement: Response by NMC
The NMC, addressing the matters raised by the candidates state the following in detail for the NEET PG 2023 Postponement:- NEET PG 2023 Exam Dates were announced six months prior to the exam date and the official notification for the same was released on September 16, 2022, through the official website by NBE.
- Previously without the request of the postponement of the exams, more than 2 lakh candidates have registered themselves to appear for the NEET PG 2023 exams on March 5, 2023.
- After the request of the candidates for an extension of the internship where 18,000 candidates were ineligible was accepted, dates were extended and the application window was opened, only 5,000 new candidates had registered.
- As per the NMC, the 5,000 new candidates count for only 2% of the total registered candidates out of the 2 lakh candidates. So, for the convenience of only 2% of the candidates the rest 98% of candidates will suffer who have prepared for the exams and do not want the NEET PG 2023 Postponement.
- Finally, the NMC states that the NEET PG 2023 exam will be held as scheduled on March 5th, 2023, and over 800 exam centers have been prepared. Additionally, it is also added that the new sessions are expected to begin by July 2023 or as early as possible with the commencement of the counseling.
