NMIMS Data Science & Analytics Students to get Scholarships by IDFC FIRST Bank
NMIMS Data Science & Analytics students to be offered scholarships by IDFC First bank. Students will also get paid internships for two months.
NMIMS Data Science and Analytics students will get scholarships from IDFC First bank. The bank has made an announcement that it is offering scholarships to the students of SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), from the School of Mathematics, Applied Statistics, and Analytics (SOMASA) on a merit basis. The scholarship will be provided to the first-year students and will cover the annual fees of the first year of the programme.
Further, the students receiving the scholarships will also get an opportunity for a paid internship for two months at the IDFC First bank. This paid internship can be extended to four months. As per the statement given by NMIMS, candidates will be evaluated during their internship period. Based on it, they will be offered pre-placement at IDFC First bank’s data science and analytics team.

The students will be selected for the IDFC scholarships through their performance in the first semester exams and personal interviews. During the selection process, the bank's evaluation and the candidate’s performance will be given equal weightage. More than 1,028 students have received IDFC First bank scholarships. Their annual family income is less than INR 6 lakhs.
Ramesh Bhat, Vice-Chancellor at, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) expressed his gratitude and congratulated the IDFC First bank on the initiation of the scholarships programme for the students of NMIMS School of Mathematics, Applied Statistics & Analytics. This scholarship programme will contribute to the education of the students. He was of the opinion that this will help the candidates in their projects, internships, training, and final placements. The School of Mathematics, Applied Statistics & Analytics have been newly incorporated at NMIMS and will be led by Dr Sushil Kulkarni as a Dean.
