SC Hearing on NEET UG Exam 2024 (July 23 Updates): The Supreme Court of India has passed its final Judgement on the NEET UG 2024 matter. The matter was addressed by a bench of the SC led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI), DY Chandrachud. As per the latest judgement, the court has clearly stated that there will be no-re-NEET UG exam 2024 to maintain the sanctity of the examination, due to a lack of proper materials and records. The SC has also asked NTA to change the answer to one question and the results for all candidates will be revised. Here are some of the major highlights of the July 23 SC hearing on NEET UG 2024 for reference of the candidates.

Major Highlights of NEET UG SC July 23 Hearing 2024

As per the NEET UG exam 2024 Supreme Court hearing on July 23, the following shall be observed:
  • The courts find the data on record is not sufficient or does not indicate a leak of question paper that would lead to the disruption of the sanctity of the NEET UG exam 2024.
  • CJI DY Chandrachud states that cancellation of the entire exam is not justifiable, based on the materials available on court. Hence the NEET UG exam 2024 conducted on May 5 stands and no re-NEET exam 2024 will be conducted.
  • The court also states that the court is mindful of making decisions and to conduct re-examination ould lead to serious consequences as well as injustice for the rest of the aspirants who have appeared for the exam.
  • However, as per the latest answers submitted by IIT Delhi, Option 4 of the question on matter will be the only correct answer, and the change in answer for will be accepted and instructs NTA to re-calculate the marks of the candidates.
  • The court also asks NTA to issue fresh results for all candidates considering the changes.
  • Further, the court also appraised the Union on the formation of the committee to investigate the matter, headed by the ex ISRO chairman. The committee will also see that the judgements passed by the court is fulfilled by NTA in due time.
  • Finally the court advised National Testing Agency (NTA) to strengthen their measure, so that such incidents do not repeat in the future.
Following the judgement, candidates shall now expect the revised result to be released soon followed by the counselling process to begin as it has already been delayed.
