Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University has directed all the seven dental colleges across the state to submit the documents relating to the admission of students for the MDS course. The varsity further warned the dental colleges that they would be penalized if they fail to submit the documents for scrutiny. Dental Council of India (DCI) will take stringent action against the colleges which attempt to violate the rules and regulations as set by the nodal authority for dental education in the country. The consequences of the same could also lead to these colleges losing their affiliation.

Some dental colleges have been directed by the DCI and Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University to do so because of various allegations that have been put on them to admit about 96 students who did not even appear for the mandatory NEET-PG exam or did not qualify in it following which these admissions are being regarded as invalid. The final decision of DCI will be out only after a thorough scrutiny of the documents.

Out of the seven colleges that were directed to submit the documents on August 25, 2017, only Government Dentistry College (Indore) has adhered to the same till now. Another college in Gwalior submitted the documents without disclosing the allotment letters. Two other private medical colleges have sought more time to submit the documents.

If the colleges fail to submit the documents, Madhya Pradesh Medical Sciences University will let a probe committee further investigate the matter which will make a report on the issue.
