The NSS Activities at SKRBR College concluded on 7-June-2016. The college management and NSS unit organised various NSS activities in college and nearby villages from 5th June to 7th June as part of ‘World environment day’ celebrations. NSS Coordinator of the college, Mr. V Venkatesh gave the details of the activities.
He said, “A total number of 60 NSS volunteers participated in Swatch Bharath and plantation campaign from 5th June to 7th June. The NSS activities were held for three days where the NSS volunteers took up plantation program at college premises initially. They planted around 55 saplings in the college premises and organized plantation campaign at Narasaraopet town and planted more than 100 saplings. They visited nearby villages and exposed people about the importance of Clean & Green. They panted saplings in the village with the help of villagers. They cleaned the premises of local tank in the village and educated people about safe drinking water”.
These NSS activities were supported by the College management and NCC wing of the college. The students were appreciated by the villagers, college management and faculty members for their efforts to help make this world a better place to live in. Most of the students opine that these type of activities must be conducted frequently to protect the environment.
