NTA changes tie breaking policy for JEE Main 2022: Read details here

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has reintroduced changes in the tie-breaking policy of JEE Main 2022 exam by initiating the age factor as the tie-breaking policy. Formerly, the age factor was omitted in 2021, nonetheless, the authorities have brought back this major amendment in 2022. Another added criteria for tie breakers are the application numbers in ascending order. This refers that if two candidates obtain the same score in the JEE Main exam 2022 and if other policies cannot resolve the tie, then the candidate who completed the registration first will get an added advantage over the other candidate(s).

Method of JEE Main 2022 tie-breaking policy

Tie-breaking policy is applied between the candidates if they secured the same score in paper 1 (BE/BTech). Check the Tie-breaking rule here:

1. JEE Main Mathematics score, followed by
2. JEE Main Physics score, followed by
3. JEE Main Chemistry score, followed by
4. Candidates will less ratio of the number of attempted incorrect answers, followed by
5. Candidates will less ratio of the number of attempted incorrect answers in Mathematics, followed by 
6. Candidates will less ratio of the number of attempted incorrect answers in Physics, followed by 
7. Candidates will less ratio of the number of attempted incorrect answers in Chemistry, followed by 
8. Older in age, followed by
9. Application number (consider the ascending order)

JEE Main 2022 exam dates revised   

Earlier, the National Testing Agency (NTA) rescheduled dates for JEE Main phase 1 and phase 2. As per the revised schedule, JEE Main 2022 April session will now be held from June 20 to June 29, 2022; Whereas the May session exam will be held from July 21 to July 30, 2022.
