Where on one side few students found out that they failed after the pending scorecards were posted by CBSE on the official website, some students were shocked to get marks in papers they have not written on the other side.
As a result, this protest over discrepancies took a violent turn when a few students vandalized the regional board office. Few students smashed the glass door of CBSE’s regional office in Bhubaneswar.
Students complained that where they were expecting to score about 90 percent, they have only scored 76 percent. Where one student passed with a 41 percent where she had expected over 80 percent, others were unsatisfied with receiving very less marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology where they performed well.
CBSE authorities assured of deputing high- level team for resolving the matter, so, a delegation of parents’ association went forward to file petitions in Orissa High Court and submit copies of memorandum to CBSE chairman. CBSE was also accused of implementing Moderation policy only in metropolitan cities and ignoring Orissa.
