Odisha Matric Exams 2019: 108 OMR Sheets Go Missing from Exam Centre
The OMR sheets of 108 students who appeared in the Odisha Mathematics Matric exam on 2nd March 2019 went missing from the exam centre. The matric exam is conducted by the BSE throughout the state.
The OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheets of Mathematics paper were found to be missing from an exam centre in Odisha. Around 108 students had appeared in the Mathematics exam on 2nd March 2019 at a government school in the Malkangiri district of Odisha.
The matter came into light after authorities of Padia’s SSD High School filed a complaint at Padia police station. The police said that the complaint declared that the OMR sheets of 108 students were missing and could not be found on the school premises.
Jagmohan Meena, the Superintendent of Police at Malkangiri, said that ASP U.C. Nayak is in charge of leading a team which has been sent to conduct a rigorous investigation at the school. He assured that they are looking into the matter in order to ascertain in what circumstances did the OMR sheets go missing.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the district administration have also been notified about this incident by the school authorities. The yearly matric examination in Odisha is conducted by BSE throughout the state.
Rameswar Pradhan, the Sub-Collector of Malkangiri, and senior officials have been making rounds at the school to look into the matter. This development is more susceptible to suspicion as it happened a day after pictures of the mathematics question paper surfaced online and on different social media which had prompted the State Government to go forth with the suspension of three teachers in the Kalahandi District.

The BSE of Odisha has already been in a tight spot as the question papers of Hindi, Odia and English have also been leaked and made viral online earlier
10 people had already been suspended by the Board of Secondary Education because they were alleged to have a role in spreading the images of question papers on social media. Among the 10 people who were suspended, four were examination centre superintendents.
