Odisha Private Engineering College Association Wants CBSE to Extend JEE Registration Dates
The Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) requests Odisha CM to ask the CBSE to deter the last day of registration for JEE Mains exam 2017.
The Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) has requested Chief Minister of Odisha to ask the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) to deter the last day of registration for JEE Mains exam 2017 by 20 days or so.
The reason for this request comes after the CBSE made Aadhar Card mandatory for registration for 2017 JEE exams. OPECA Secretary Binod Dash stressed on the fact that in Odisha, many people still have not applied for their Aadhar Cards and following this ruling by CBSE; students were in a fix in terms of procuring their Aadhar Cards within the designated time.

Mr. Dash added that in 2015, about 50,000 students had enrolled for JEE exams, but in 2016, the applications have touched a small figure of 22,000 only.

OPECA stressed on the delinking of Aadhar Cards for JEE registration and added that the Odisha JEE Committee should ensure that a central exam like JEE should have a wider publicity and should be available to all.
