One lakh B.E Seats Remain Vacant in Tamil Nadu
It has been estimated that only 40,000 seats will be filled in the next ten days.
This year, the students who have qualified +2 in Tamil Nadu did not show interest in joining Bachelor of Engineering. The first phase of counselling will be concluded within 10 days where counselling for 58,175 candidates has been conducted out of which 40,524 candidates turned up for counselling so far. These students have been allotted seats. A total number of 17,444 seats remain vacant in the first phase of counselling.
There are 1,85,296 seats in Tamil Nadu out of which 1,41,717 seats are offered by private engineering colleges. There are 2,824 seats in Anna University and affiliated colleges. there are 231 vacant seats in government and government aided colleges. It has been estimated that only 40,000 seats will be filled in the next ten days.
The counselling for +2 vocational training candidates and supplementary candidates will be conducted on 23rd and 24-July-2016. Around 5,000 seats will be filled through this counselling. So, around one lakh B.E seats will remain vacant.
