Online Evaluation System Introduced at Osmania University, Ph.D Theses to be Evaluated Online
Osmania University (OU) has introduced an online evaluation system for PhD theses submitted by research scholars. The new system has been introduced to speed up the existing evaluation system of Ph.D. theses.
After successfully initiating an onscreen evaluation system for Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) courses, Osmania University (OU) has now introduced an online evaluation system for PhD theses submitted by research scholars. Using a login id and password, evaluators can access the thesis of Ph.D scholars for evaluation. The new system has been introduced to speed up the existing evaluation system of Ph.D. theses. So far, it took 20 days for the evaluators to evaluate Ph.D. theses.
Keeping up with the digital age, the examination branch of Osmania University, Hyderabad has introduced an online evaluation process to assess 80,000 answer scripts of the MBA second semester examinations 2018 in the university.
The varsity will scan all the answer scripts, which will be hosted on a dedicated server in the Data Centre located in the Central Facilities for Research and Development on the campus.
Students can access their answer sheets from the designated online evaluation centres that will be set up within the jurisdiction of Osmania University. The evaluators will be able to access the answer scripts with a dedicated login and password assigned to them. They will also be able to evaluate and remark on the answer scripts through this portal only. In addition, the software embedded in the technology will automatically total the individual marks allocated to an answer and send the cumulative marks to the main server.
Osmania University has introduced the online evaluation system to minimalize errors, curb malpractices and enhance the evaluation process.

At present, the new evaluation methodology will be implemented for MBA papers and subsequently replicated for other courses as well. The online evaluation process at Osmania University, Hyderabad was introduced as a measure to avoid unforeseen casualties like the fire in the university that demolished about nine per cent scripts of the 87,000 B.Sc scripts (Regular and Backlog). The varsity had to re-conduct the exams, which was a cumbersome and time-taking process.
