Orphans to get Free Education in the Colleges and Schools of Rajasthan

The Government of Rajasthan has taken a great initiative to provide free education for orphans in schools and universities. The decision of the government has been announced by Minister of Higher Education, Mr. Kali Charan. The decision is not applicable to private colleges. It is applicable to 24 state-run universities and 207 affiliated colleges. This education policy will be implemented from this academic year.

The motto behind this decision is to provide free education to orphans who face financial issues and vulnerable as they don’t have parents. The orders have been issued to all the universities stating not to charge a fee from orphans. The policy is applicable only to those orphans who clear the admission process. Vardhan Mahavir Open University is also planning to provide free study material to orphans along with free education. So far, no applications have been received from orphans in all the 24 universities.

Previously the education for orphans was free till 8^th standard and now it has been extended to Class 12. On the other hand, they also get free education in universities. This initiative is also being carried out by the government of Orissa.
