Osmania University Taking Steps to Vacate Non-Boarders from Hostels
- Few students who have completed their courses in the varsity did not vacate the hostels and are causing a lot of inconvenience to the varsity.

After issuing numerous notices to non-boarders to vacate hostels voluntarily, the administration of Osmania University is planning to take stringent steps to evict them. The authorities are planning to cut off water and power supply in hostels where non-boarders are staying. The objective of the varsity is to provide better amenities to legitimate boarders. According to sources, the varsity has also sought help from the Police Department to vacate the non-boarders from hostels.

Few students who have completed their courses in the varsity did not vacate the hostels and are causing a lot of inconvenience to the varsity. There are 18 hostels on the campus of OU and all these hostels are over-burdened by nearly 200-300 non-boarders. The varsity directed these students to vacate the hostel. However, many of the non-boarders continued to stay in the hostel.

The authorities of Osmania University are also planning to renovate the hostels and provide better amenities to students. It is the right time for the varsity to carry out renovation activities as the classes for the first-year and second-year students are yet to take off. The administration also observed that few hostels are in complete dilapidated condition and there is a need to carry out renovation activities with immediate effect.
The varsity also observed that illegal and unauthorised persons occupied the faculty quarters. The varsity will cut down power and water supply in these quarters. It has also directed the security personnel to look into the issue and take steps to evict unauthorised people from the hostels.
