Osmania University to Relaunch a Course in Mining
The officials of Coal India and Singareni Coal Mines visited Osmania University and interacted with Vice Chancellor, Mr. Ramachandram last week.
The officials of Coal India and Singareni Coal Mines visited Osmania University and interacted with the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Ramachandram last week. The officials requested the VC to relaunch mining course in the university.

Ramachandram gave a positive response to the officials and assured that the necessary steps would be taken as early as possible to re-launch the course. The officials mentioned that there is a huge demand for mining engineers in Singarani Coal Mines. The number of students pursuing a course in mining has reduced gradually in the past few years. The course in mining is available in only one college in the region, which is located in Kothagudem.

Osmania University offered a course in Mining a few years back. However, the course was discontinued as there wasn’t enough response from the students.
