OTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has released the eligibility criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2 for OTET 2022 application. The OTET 2022 Registration process has commenced on October 10, 2022. The last date to apply is October 19, 2022. Candidates before applying must check out the OTET Eligibility Criteria 2022, age limit, qualification and other details to avoid any mistakes.
OTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can check out the eligibility criteria of OTET 2022 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 below. Aspirants not meeting the eligibility requirements cannot apply for the examination.
OTET Eligibility Criteria for Category-A (Paper 1)
Find the eligibility requirements of Category-A (Paper 1) below.
- Candidates must have passed higher secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (CT or D.El.Ed.).
- Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2002.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
- Candidates must possess a Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Aspirants must have passed their graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), with the qualification of Bachelor of Education from any NCTE Recognised Institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V and shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher.
OTET Eligibility Criteria for Category-B (Paper 2)

- Candidates must have passed their Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
- Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and 1-year bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1 year (B.Ed.) by the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and 4-year B.A./ B.Sc, Ed or B.A. Ed./ B.Sc. Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Note: Candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC & PWD categories are provided a relaxation of 5% marks in Higher Secondary or graduation level, as the case may be.
