Panjab University to Adopt Cloud Online Software for Admission from Next Session
It will allow the students to upload documents, submit forms, register for assessment tests, view test scores, track application status and pay registration fees etc.
The students seeking admissions in Panjab Universiy from the next academic session will have to go through the online admission procedure through a 'cloud-based online admission management services' in the institute as well as in the regional centres. The academic committee declared that from the upcoming session, a candidate can apply for only four courses in one admission form on the cloud online application system. After completing the registration online, an ID with a password will be generated which will be used throughout the admission procedure.
The application fee for applying for one course will be INR 300 while for two courses it will be INR 400. In the same way, INR 500 for applying for three courses and for four courses, it will be INR 600.

Candidates who want to apply for more than four courses will have to submit another admission application form with additional charges. Students interested in applying for admission the to the fifth course will have to INR 500 and for applying in the sixth course, they will be required to INR 400 as an application fee. Further, for submitting the application form for admission in the seventh course will be INR 500. Similarly, for applying to get admission in the eight course, the application fee charged will be INR 600.
Again, if a candidate wishes to apply for more than eight courses, they will have to submit another admission application form with additional charges.
In case, the applicants fall under the reserved categories like Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Person with Disabilities (PWD), they will get a 50% concession on the application fee. Earlier in the academic session of 2016-2017, the application fee amount for general category was INR 500 while for the candidates belonging to ST/SC/PWD, it was INR 250.

The facility for payment of fee can be done through different channels such as credit/debit card, or internet banking.
G S Chadha, Registrar Col (Retd) discussed the new online admission system. He said that the cloud online software would enable the applicants to enroll quickly. It will allow the students to upload documents, submit forms, register for assessment tests, view test scores, track application status and pay registration fees through the next generation functionality and features involved in the admission process via newly adopted online admission system.
