A delegation of parents met the state board officials on 31 st may 2016 over concerns related to Std XI admissions. Skyrocketing scores of CBSE Std X students has got parents of SSC students worried as they fear it will hamper their kids' chances in merit rankings of Centralized Admission Procedure ( CAP ).

Prashant Tannerwar, spokesperson, Nagpur Youth Congress said, "If so many CBSEstudents keep scoring 98% and 99%, they will get all the top junior college seats during CAP. And it is a fact that almost all CBSE students shift to the state board in Std X. We had a long discussion with senior board officials in Nagpur and they have promised to take this up at the state level meet in mid-June when officials from all divisions will meet in Pune."

The delegation will put in a formal request with the board to change the pattern of SSC examination so that there is a level playing field. Bunty Shelke, president of Nagpur YC said, "Our SSC students have to study entire syllabus, while in CBSE it is only half of the book. Also in SSC only 20% are internal marks while in CBSE it is 70%. So we are not against anyone, all we ask it that our Maharashtra board students be given a fair chance."

Divisional board chairman Sanjay Ganorkar said he will be taking up the issue with higher authorities. "We will always protect the interests of state board students, that is a priority. However such decisions are not within my jurisdiction, hence, I will raise the issue with my seniors. The government will decide what needs to be done from there on," said Ganorkar.
