- Teachers should have a passion for teaching, and they should work towards producing good students, he said.
During the launch of the new curriculum for engineering, HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar urged the teachers to work with passion, dedication and sincerity. Teachers should not be impassive purveyors of knowledge at the cost of students’ interests. Teaching is an art and every teacher must play an overridden role in the maximum utilisation of teaching and learning resources, he added.
Pointing out a few problems in teaching, HRD Minister stated that teaching pedagogy is a science. However, the ministry observed that the teaching profession is becoming robotic and impersonal. Teachers should have a passion for teaching, and they should work towards producing good students, he explained.

On the other hand, the teachers who set question papers for various exams do not have requisite training, he pointed.

Adding further, Javadekar emphasised that the accreditation of universities and institutes across the country should be output-based rather than input-based.
