Pennsylvania University Campus to be Set Up in Andhra Pradesh Soon
- A LoI (Letter of Intent) was signed between Pennsylvania University and APEDB for strategic academic collaboration.
- The collaboration would majorly focus on Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Food Processing domains.
On December 14, 2017, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu announced that the state government will soon set up a mega-university in the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati. Honourable CM met the Vice Chancellor of PASSHE (Pennsylvanian State System of Higher Education), Dr. Peter Garland at AP Secretariat on December 14, 2017. A high-level delegation from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania also met the Chief Minister and jointly took the decision to set up a campus of Pennsylvania University at Amaravati.

After the meeting with AP CM, the delegates expressed keen interest to take part in pre-university programmes including faculty and student exchange programmes, student counselling, advising and enrolment and professional development for teachers as well as administration. APEDB (Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board) and PAASHE have signed a LoI (Letter of Intent) through which strategic partnership and alliance will be promoted between Pennsylvania University and all the universities across Andhra Pradesh.

CEO of APEDB, Mr. Jasthi Krishna Kishore revealed that the collaboration would majorly focus on Information Technology (IT), Electronics and Food Processing domains.
Addressing the delegates during the meeting, CM of AP revealed that the state government has achieved various milestones in the field of education, entrepreneurship and software skills. It is doing its best to produce highly skilled and talented youth. Mathematics and English are the core strengths of AP and there is immense scope for IT industry in the state. He assured immediate measures for the implementation of academic collaboration between AP and Pennsylvania University.
