UT Chandigarh Tops in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) Report

In the report, Chandigarh, Kerala and Gujarat have scored 851-900, attaining the level III or Grade I+. As per the statement of MHRD, this has been the first time when one Union Territory and two states in India have crossed the limit of 85% PGD score, marking their place in Grade I+.

On Monday, the Ministry of Human Resource & Development (MHRD) prepared a PGI (Performance Grading Index) report and once again, UT Chandigarh retained the top position in India. Improving the last year’s score of 841 points, this year, UT has scored a total of 896 out of 1000 points.

In the report, Chandigarh, Kerala and Gujarat have scored 851-900, attaining the level III or Grade I+. As per the statement of MHRD, this has been the first time when one Union Territory and two states in India have crossed the limit of 85% PGD score, marking their place in Grade I+.

As per the report, Chandigarh scored 13.89% (the maximum) in the area of administration & management of the schools. However, Chandigarh has scored a minimum in the equity index with a point of 0.43% which is in the area of the learning outcome for various category of students in India (including kids with special needs).

The PGI report is the second report published by MHRD. The first report was published in the yar 2019 for the years 2017-18. This year also, the report has been prepared on the basis of the same 70 parameters which were used to prepare the previous report. As per the report, the following data were gathered and analysed:
