Permanent Campus of VIT - Andhra Pradesh to be Inaugurated on November 28

The first phase of construction of the permanent campus of VIT-Amaravati (AP) has been completed and the campus is all set to be inaugurated on November 28, 2017. Honourable Vice President of India, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. N Chandra Babu Naidu will formally inaugurate the hostel block and academic block at 10:30 AM on November 28, 2017. The permanent campus of VIT-Amaravati is located near Inavolu village, which is just 29 km away from the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati.

The state government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated 200 acres of land for the construction of VIT-Amaravati in two phases. The first phase of the university campus is now ready after the speedy completion of construction works in a record time of 11 months.

Giving details about the first phase of the university campus, Vice President of VIT-Amaravati revealed that the academic block had been named after former Vice President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan. The first phase of the campus was built in an area of 2,11,000 square feet with five floors, he added.

Giving details about the hostel block, Vice President of VIT-Amaravati revealed that it was built in 1,11,000 square feet area with nine floors. The construction work of both academic and hostel blocks began in January 2017. VIT is the first private university in Andhra Pradesh to start classes. The institute has been functioning through a temporary campus over the past few months. A total number of 630 students from 24 states across the country are studying in VIT-Amaravati. The premier technical institute offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. courses.
