<p>To bring together the commonness, Pusa Institute of Hotel Management (PIHM) Alumni Association has recently organized an event where the top honchos of renowned hotel chains came forward to celebrate the PIHMAA Annual Conclave and Exchange, an annual alumni meet of Institute of Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition.
The evening witnessed several known personalities of the hospitality industry which included Carlson Rezidor’s KB Kachru, Taj Group’s Farhat Jamal, Oberoi’s, Kapil Chopra, Steigenberg Group’s, Puneet Chattwal, Flander’s, Sunil Bhu, Celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor among others.
The event also had a notable speaker and Journalist Vir Sanghvi. Chairperson of PIHMAA, K.B. Kachru began the show which was followed by a welcome speech by Mandeep S Lamba, President, PIHMAA and Managing Director- India, JLL Property Consultants.
Kapil Chopra, a 1994 batch graduate of IHM Pusa said, “There should be a limit to what is being offered to the guests for free, after all, we’re running a business at the end of the day”. Rahul Pandit, MD &CEO, Ginger Hotels and a 1993 graduate of Pusa Institute, while not expressing proclivity towards Check- in kiosks, stated that instead, focus should be on rendering a seamless service to the guest at the front desk.
Sudhir Gupta, CEO, TLC Group stressed the importance of doing things differently, on the other hand, Rajesh Bhardwaj, Co-founder, Café Spice and Junoon Restaurants in New York and Dubai said, “While venturing on one’s own path, it is essential to believe in oneself.”
The executive committee members of PIHMAA- Tipish Mahajan (Secretary), Anil Grover (Treasurer), NS Bhuie, Manjit S Gill, Sudhir Sibal, Shaju Zacharia, Sanjay Chadha, Jasmine Singh, Nita Nagraj, Anil Sinha, Yuvika Sawhney Gogia, Kama KM were among the many present.
The insightful discussions were followed by candid mutual interactions amongst the alumni over the cocktail dinner. Principal, Alok Shivapuri along with the entire faculty and fraternity of Pusa, sang the Pusa Anthem.
