PM Modi Addresses Students in Bhutan, Proposes Extensive Cooperation Between Two Nations
While addressing the students at the Royal University of Bhutan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encourages students by talking about their potential and proposes cooperation between the two countries in various fields like digital payment and space.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the stage on 18th August 2019 at the Royal University of Bhutan. In his second visit to Bhutan, PM Modi addressed the students of the university to encourage them for their future endeavours and proposed cooperation from our nation. He said that Bhutan, as a whole, is soaring high and it will be helped by 1.3 billion Indian friends. He added that we, Indians, will not only be there to cheer with them in their pride and happiness but will also share knowledge and learn from them.
In his speech, PM Modi appreciated the students of Bhutan saying that the country has the potential and power to accomplish extraordinary things that bear the capacity to impact future generations. Modi also proposed a comprehensive alliance with the country to support them in every endeavour. He also assured that the country will be cooperating Bhutan in many new areas like digital payments, space technology, etc. To add up to the encouragement, Modi asked them to take the nation to greater heights by working harder.

He told the students of the Royal University of Bhutan that the world today has changed and offers the opportunities that have never been offered before. This has led to pursuing dreams with a full passion at an easier level than it was before. He asked the audience to not let any limitations restrict them and that there cannot be a better time to be young and creative than now. He also addressed the Senior Officials, Lawmakers and Ministers that were present in the audience that they have young minds to find unconventional and creative solutions to every problem.

This visit was Prime Minister’s first visit to the country since his re-election in the month of May 2019. After finishing his speech at the university, Prime Minister paid respects at the National Memorial Chorten which is a monument dedicated to honouring Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third head of state of the Kingdome of Bhutan (the third Druk Gyalpo).
