PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone of First Women’s University in Jharkhand
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of Jamshedpur Women’s University through a video call from Srinagar. It is the first women’s university in the areas of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of first female university campus in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The ceremony was done through an online video call as PM is in Srinagar ( Jammu and Kashmir).
The PM also launched a Professional College project in Godda district of Jharkhand along with foundation stone of female university in Jharkhand. He also talked to college students from various parts of the country and also discussed Union Government’s projects.
It is the first women’s university in the areas of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar and more than 8,000 JWC students will be benefited with the establishment of the new university.

The new women’s university campus is spread over in 18 acres of land in Sidhgora of Jamshedpur. The government will grant Rs.3 crore for the infrastructure and renovation of the old buildings.
Prime Minister also answered to a student’s question. He said that digital India is one of the reasons that he could connect to 1.50 crore students at the same time. He further informed that digital classroom in government-run schools in the rural area of Gujarat attracted the number of students as compared to the schools offering Mid Day Meal.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das addressed the students at Jamshedpur Women’s College campus. During his address, he thanked the government for their support and efforts. He further said that Jharkhand got four new universities in such a short period which is one of the greatest achievement. Apart from this, the government is taking several initiatives to encourage girls' education.
