Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address students and faculty members of Cotton College, IIT-Guwahati, and Gauhati University at a function to be held at IIT Guwahati as he visits the premier institution on 19 January.
"Right now, we are busy in executing infrastructure development plans to welcome the Prime Minister who is going to address students from higher educational institutes of the northeast. Our target is to bring around 6,000 people to the event," said Labanu Konwar, who is the Public Relations Officer at IIT-Guwahati.
Officials at IIT-Guwahati stated that “Modi will connect with students of other higher educational institutes of the northeast through a live webcast. Modi may also reply to queries of students from other parts of the northeast through a live webcast.”
The teachers and officials of IIT-Guwahati are busy in the preparation of the event. An IIT-Guwahati student, Shweta Gupta said, “Modi's presence at IIT-Guwahati will inspire youths of the northeast to implement the PM's ambitious projects like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Digital India Campaign and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan etc.”
