The women's cell of Potti Sriramulu college of Engineering and Technology celebrated International women's day in a nostalgic manner at college seminar hall on 8-March-2016 The college was decorated with flowers and looked colourful. The celebrations started at 1.30 PM which was inaugurated by Smt.Malliswari, ZPTC Member, Ibrahimpatnam.
Addressing the students she said that, "Women must cross all the hurdles they face very confidently. The key factor for the success of a woman is her confidence and courage". She motivated students to take part in all the activities on par with men. She felt that some age-old traditions and practices are still prevalent in rural areas which degrade the status of women.
Various competitions were conducted for the girl students of the college. The major competitions were;
- Poster Presentation
- Debate
- Essay Writing
- Solo Dance
- Fashion Show and
- Solo Singing
Prizes were distributed to the winners by the chief guest. The event was attended by College principal, faculty, girl Students of the college, Print and Electronic media. The celebrations ended with the fashion show.
