The decision to drop Tamil and other 16 Indian regional languages from the CTET exam caused a lot of opposition. According to HRD Ministry, students of CBSE whose mother tongue is Tamil would have been at a disadvantage without teachers who speak the same language.
CBSE conducts the CTET exam every year. Candidates who wish to teach classes 1st to 8th standard at schools run by central government appear in the CTET entrance exam. The CTET exam pattern comprises of two papers namely, Paper 1 and Paper 2.
