Prakash Javadekar Replaces Smriti Irani as HRD Minister
Smriti Irani lost her position as the HRD Minister as she failed to implement and execute various educational policies and programmes
In a major reshuffle of the Union Cabinet, Prakash Javadekar has been replaced as the HRD Minister in the place of Smriti Irani. He is the alumnus of the University of Pune. Smriti Irani has been given textile ministry. Mr. Prakash Javadekar has been appointed as the HRD Minister to speed up the implementation of the education projects by 2019 polls.
According to the sources, Smriti Irani lost her position as the HRD Minister as she failed to implement and execute various educational policies and programmes. The tenure of Smriti Irani started with a controversy regarding her Four Year Undergraduate Programme which was against UGC norms. However, she received a deadly blow on the issues related to the Central University of Hyderabad and Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has reshuffled his cabinet and appointed 19 new ministers into his cabinet. Mr. MJ Akbar has been appointed as Minister of External Affairs.
