President of India Address 83rd Convocation Ceremony of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University Agra
- The 83rd convocation ceremony of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University was addressed by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
- The President urged the students to help the marginalised sections of the society and propagate the benefits of education.
The 83rd convocation ceremony of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, located in Agra took place in a cordial manner on December 5, 2017. Honourable President of India, Shri. Ram Nath Kovind was the Chief Guest for the convocation ceremony.
Addressing the students, President of India urged them to encourage, support and help the marginalised sections of the society as they set targets for the future. It is the responsibility of every citizen of the country to repay society, he added.
Speaking about the illustrious history of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, the President of India indicated that the varsity played a significant role in producing Prime Ministers, Presidents, eminent scholars and stalwarts in many aspects of life, he highlighted.

As an alumnus of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, President of India advised the graduating students to take up new responsibilities and learn as they move forward in their life. Convocation is not an end to the journey of a student, and there is lot more to do as a citizen of the nation, he added.
Expressing his ideas on humanity, Shri. Ram Nath Kovind mentioned that parents, family members, teachers and others in society and government have played a vital role in contributing to the education of graduating students. Today, millions of people are unable to get education and it is the primary responsibility of graduating students to make education accessible to marginalised sections of the society, said the President.

President of India hailed the efforts of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University in providing education to underprivileged children through a model school. He termed such efforts as sensitive as they play a major role in making students responsible towards society.
During the 83rd convocation ceremony of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Honorary Degrees were awarded to woman scientist Tessy Thomas and NSA Chief Ajit Doval. A total number of 114 students were awarded medals, out of which 96 were women.
