President of India Addresses 94th Convocation Ceremony of Delhi University
- The 94th convocation ceremony of the Delhi University was held on November 18, 2017.

The 94th convocation ceremony of the University of Delhi was held in an eventful manner with the honourable presence of President of India Shri. Ram Nath Kovind and Union Minister of Human Resource and Development Mr. Prakash Javadekar.
Delivering the convocation address, President of India urged the students and faculty of Delhi University to adjust according to the changing trends in higher education. The president added that is time for the students to become more competitive and make global contributions. Today, artificial intelligence has been changing the way the society thinks and people are on the edge of the society of cognitive machines, he added. The opportunities and challenges before the students are wide and immense, said by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Advising the Delhi University, President of India mentioned that the varsity will have to modify certain aspects including innovation in terms of mechanism of delivery and academic content. The President also added that the traditional barriers between fields that were once regarded as unchallengeable or unimpeachable are breaking down. In the current scenario, there is a need to devise new courses and programmes to address the needs of the next 25 to 30 years. The varsity will have to adopt an interdisciplinary or multi-disciplinary approach, he added.
Adding further, the President of India indicated that Delhi University is regarded as the University of India, as every region and state across the country are represented here. Similarly, the university is one of the favourite destinations for North East students. Students from diverse backgrounds and varied cultures add richness and vibrancy to the campus of Delhi University, the President added.

President of India lauded the efforts of Delhi University for initiating Massive Online and Open Courses (MOOCs). The President added that universities and educational institutes across the country should not only concentrate on preparing the students for job market but also promote meaningful learning and exploration of knowledge. All the universities across the country should focus on building a knowledgeable-society, concluded by President.
