MHRD Launches Prime Minister Innovative Learning Programme - DHRUV
To discuss the major problems that are being faced by the global community, Prime Minister Innovative Learning Programme - DHRUV is being held from 10th to 23rd October 2019. 60 different students will take part in the programme.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has launched DHRUV: Prime Minister Innovative Learning Programme. The programme was launched from the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), Bangalore on 10th October 2019 and will be concluded at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) on 23rd October 2019.
The programme was launched at ISRO in the presence of Prof K Vijay Raghavan, Principal Scientific Advisor of the Govt of India; Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to enter space and Dr K Sivan, ISRO Chairman. The PM Innovative Learning Programme will be held in the auspicious presence of ISRO Chairman, Kailasavadivoo Sivan; K Vijayraghvan, PM’s scientific advisor and Wing Cdr Rakesh Sharma.

Objectives of DHRUV - PM Innovative Learning Programme
To make talented students aware of their full potential and capabilities and help them contribute to society.
To identify and encourage students to foster their knowledge and skills.
To discuss global community challenges like glacial meltdown, agricultural problems and water conservation.
The programme has been named DHRUV after the Pole Star. A total of 60 students have been selected to join the programme; 30 each from Arts and Science streams. Many of these students are expected to touch greater heights in the fields they have chosen and bring honour to their community as well as the nation.

The Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ says that students at the programme will be nurtured and mentored by renowned experts from different fields to ensure that the children reach their full potential. This ambitious initiative launched by the government will benefit the youth of the country. The programme is also expected to catalyze India’s quest to become a $5 trillion economy.
