Private Universities in Kerala Soon: After the invitation from the government of Kerala, several private universities have shown interest in setting up their campuses in the state. This has lit up the hopes of lots of students of the state who leave their homes for better education outside. As many as 20 educational groups have said to build new campuses in Kerala. Some of these universities have already initiated the process of looking for land. In addition to this good news, some other corporate-aided institutes will also look to set up new extensions.
Private Universities Coming to Kerala for New Campuses
With delightful news about the economy and the higher education infrastructure of the state, will also add up to the vision of making Kerala an educational hub by the state government. The Department of Higher Education (DHE) is compiling new laws for this new educational ecosystem in the state.
The decision to invite outer universities has been made in adherence to the recommendations given in the Shyam B Menon Commission to not provide deemed status to local institutes. The department came up with an idea to establish campuses for already known universities.
Some of the big HEIs (Higher Educational Institutes) and universities including Manipal University, Amritha University, Symbiosis University, Amity University, Christ University and Azim Premji University have already shown keen interest in establishing new units in the country.
With this being done, lacs of students who had to go outside Kerala to pursue higher education in big universities will be able to continue it in the same colleges in this state.
