'Project 100 Kalam' to Help Students Crack NEET, JEE
The Indore District Administration has launched 'Project 100 Kalam'. It is a crash course that will prepare the underprivileged students for cracking JEE and NEET free of cost. The applications are invited till 16th August 2019.
The Bollywood film ‘Super 30’, that was starred by Hritik Roshan and was based on the story of Anand Kumar, has cast a spell over the entire country ever since its release. The movie helped in spreading the noble cause that was initiated by Anand Kumar when he started teaching students for cracking IIT-JEE free of cost. It was an inspiration to many.
The Indore District Administration has also taken inspiration from the movie and story of ‘Super 30’ and has launched its own ‘Project 100 Kalam’. This project will select a total of 100 students through entrance tests and provide them with a year-long crash course for cracking the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The selected students will not be charged for the course and will also be offered food and boarding.
Lokesh Kumar Jatav, the collector, said that Project 100 Kalam has been initiated in Indore and it is an attempt to provide aid to students who have talent but lack guidance and required sources. The project will help these students in pursuing their dreams and cracking the national level competitive exams of NEET and JEE.

Project 100 Kalam is designed for students who study in government schools and belong to the sections that are backward socially and economically. Apart from that, the children of grade - 3 and grade - 4 government employees, the children of divorcees/ widows/ head constable and constables of the police department/ single mothers/ physically disabled people, orphans, and students who are enrolled in class 11th in the science stream and have cleared their high school exams with at least 70 per cent marks will be permitted to appear for the entrance exam.
The students who are eligible for this crash course and are interested in it can submit an application form for the same which is available in both online and offline mode. The applications will be accepted till 16th August 2019, Friday. The entrance exam will be conducted at the office of all the four developmental blocks and 50 students each will be selected for the batch of IIT and NEET. Classes for each batch will commence from 1st September 2019.
The project is named after Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India who is known to have overcome many struggles for pursuing higher education and went on to serve as an aerospace scientist, contributing in the civilian space programme of India.
Project 100 Kalam is a unique initiative undertaken by the Indore District Administration that will provide quality education to the underprivileged students. It will also offer accommodation and food to students who join the course from the far-flung areas of the district. This move will help nourish many brilliant young minds who have talent in abundance but cannot go forth with fulfilling their IIT dreams because of poor financial conditions.
