PTU Comes Up With Product Design & Development Centre
Punjab Technical University, Kapurthala has established Product Design and Development Center (PDD) at its campus. The Product Design and Development Center (PDD) has been established in association with Tata Technologies.
Punjab Technical University (PTU) Kapurthala has come up with Product Design and Development Center (PDD). The inauguration of the PDD center was done on the 23rd Foundation Day of the varsity.
The center will provide the students with an opportunity to gain practical knowledge in the field of product designing. The Product Design and Development Center (PDD) at PTU has been established in collaboration with Tata Technologies.

Prof Ajay Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor PTU addressed the audience during the Foundation Day of the university and said the PDD Center has been opened keeping in mind the continuous advancement of technologies, competition across the world and safety requirements, which are making the industries invest in advanced tools for enhancing the Product Design and Development. The PDD Center will lead to the development of innovative and cost-effective products.

The PDD Center at the varsity has an industry simulated environment with all the latest technologies and tools that are used by OEMs in the field of product design and development. The center has well-advanced technological workstations. These workstations have all the latest tools that are used every day in the field of Design, Engineering, Digital Manufacturing, Virtual Verification and Analysis and others.
At last, Vice-Chancellor said that the center is a great way to provide learning and training opportunities to the students within the state itself. Students will not have to move out of the state to gain such exposure.
