PU Elections: Senior Politicians Throng Varsity Campus
Parties made last attempt to woo the voters.
On account of Panjab University elections, senior politicians of BJP, Congress and SAD visited the campus of the University on September 6, 2016, to boost the morale of student organisations. The elections are being held on September 7, 2016. The campaigning for the elections was concluded on September 5, 2016. Rallies were conducted by the student organisations and completed the campaign.

Most of the student leaders interacted with the students personally on Tuesday to seek their support. At this juncture, various political leaders visited the college to give last minute instructions to the student leaders. Leaders like Amarinder Raja Warring, President of All India Youth Congress, Sanjay Tandon, President of BJP (Chandigarh), Vijender Singla, former MP of Congress party and others visited the campus and encouraged the student leaders by giving instructions.

According to the sources, Warring has been monitoring campaign from Chandigarh. He has been giving instructions to the leaders and up to date with the developments on the campus day by day. Romana, a senior member of SOI, was also in touch with the concerned student leaders. He asked his team to gather the list of all the voters. He directed that his team to ensure that all the supporters of SOI have to come to polling booths to cast their votes.
