Queen's University Belfast to Accept JEE Scores for Admissions
Queen's University Belfast has announced that it will start a five-year engagement programme that will be focused on reaching out to Indian students. The university will accept JEE scores for admitting Indian students into the programme.
The Queen’s University Belfast has introduced a five-year engagement plan in order to attract Indian students and bring diverse perspectives to make the campus truly global. As part of the engagement plan, several partnerships will be made with Indian institutions and there will be various outreach programmes for the students in India.
The President and Vice Chancellor of the Queen’s University Belfast, Ian Greer, said that they have not yet unlocked a huge pool of substantial potential and talent and such programmes will help them reach out to more diversity. This five-year programme is formulated to make the students of India aware of various universities in the United Kingdom apart from the traditional ones.

Greer said that the university is keen to admit Indian students. She said that Indian students are intellectually sharp and also very hard working and committed. The language skills they possess is helpful for them participating in constructive dialogues.
Queen’s University Belfast will be incorporating the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) score in their entry criteria for the programmes of technology and science. Many Indian students aim at getting into the various IITs but fail to do so as there are limited seats. Despite having a good JEE score, they do not get into a good college or get the course of their choice. Incorporating JEE scores in their admission process will help Queen’s University Belfast in admitting the high-quality students, as told by Greer in an interview with ‘Education Times’.
At present, around 200 Indian students are admitted in the university for various programmes and Greer is hopeful of enrolling several hundred students from India by the end of the 5-year plan.
