Rajasthan Government to Set up College for Hearing Impaired

In a bid to boost the education of the hearing-impaired students of Rajasthan, Government plans to establish a college for them, discloses Vasundhara Raje, Rajasthan Chief Minister.

In a bid to boost the education of the hearing-impaired students of the state, Rajasthan Government plans to establish a college for them, disclosed Vasundhara Raje, Rajasthan Chief Minister.

Presiding over the convention of the College and University teachers at Rajasthan University, the Chief Minister said that the state government was in discussion with a leading organisation to open a college for students who are hearing- impaired. The college will be first of its kind in India and discussions have been set in motion in this regard.

Raje also announced that the college teachers will have a new designation as the Government is planning for change in their duties and responsibilities. For that, the government will make necessary changes in the rulebook of college education in the state.

The Chief Minister assured the teachers that her government will look into the demands of the teachers. Raje said that students always share a very special bond with their teachers which is sacred and higher than that with one's parents. The old values of ‘Guru-Shisya Parampara' should be restored back so that the future of present generation can be nurtured.

She also highlighted the achievements of the state government in the domain of college education and appealed to the teachers to focus on research related works. Talking abou the employment scenario, she said that it is not possible to provide a government job to all. Only one lakh people are employed in government sector. BJP government of the state has been trying its best to provide skill development training to a large number of local candidates so that they can get jobs in different sectors as well.

The Chief Minister further said that enrollment in government schools has improved tremendously. Adding to that, she revealed that around 13 lakh students studying in private schools have enrolled in government schools.
